As a staff team and as Head, we always try to make Kew Green the type of place where we wanted to go to school: warm relationships, high expectations without pressure and plenty of fun! Love of learning is the key to everything we do at Kew Green Prep.

We are situated in one of London’s most iconic and inspiring locations, a stone’s throw from the Royal Botanic Gardens, adjacent to the cricket pitch on Kew Green and backing on to the River Thames, offering the benefits of both a city education and a strong connection to nature.

We have a broad and balanced curriculum which seeks to light the flame of curiosity and creativity in every child whilst also unearthing and cultivating their unique talents. Our mission is for Kew Green children to be confident and articulate but also equipped with the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the world. We are incredibly proud of our exceptional outcomes and the manner in which we achieve them, through a ‘greenhouse’ rather than a ‘hothouse’ approach.

We ensure that every child flourishes through outstanding teaching, rich and varied opportunities, and strong pastoral care. Our staff know each child as an individual and celebrate their unique strengths and potential. Visitors often comment on the warm and happy atmosphere that pervades our school – it is a place where children feel safe, valued and excited to learn. We build strong relationships with each family through our open door policy, encouraging partnership and a shared vision between home and school.

Whether discovering the wonders of nature along the towpath, taking part in a Shakespeare workshop, composing music, solving maths challenges or forming lifelong friendships, children at Kew Green are supported and stretched in equal measure.

We believe that an outstanding prep education is not just the warm-up act, it is the main event! It is during these years that the brain is most malleable, curiosity is at its peak, and identity begins to take shape, forming the architecture of the brain for years to come.
