Bursaries

At Kew Green Preparatory School (KGPS), we are committed to widening access to a Kew Green Prep education for children who will thrive here and whose families may benefit from financial support. We have a limited number of bursaries currently available and are pleased to offer a means-tested bursary programme to assist families for whom the full cost of fees may present a barrier.

Our bursary programme is about opening doors for children who will thrive at Kew Green Prep and contribute positively to our school community.
— Aidan McLaughlin, Headteacher

Our Bursary Programme

Bursaries are awarded on the basis of financial need and are intended to support families who share our values and wish their child to benefit from the breadth, ambition and care that characterise a KGPS education.

Awards may cover a proportion of school fees, depending on individual circumstances and are reviewed annually to ensure continued eligibility.

Eligibility

Bursaries may be available to:

  • Children applying for entry to Kew Green Preparatory School
  • Existing pupils where there has been a significant and unexpected change in family circumstances

All applicants must meet the school’s admissions criteria and demonstrate the potential to contribute positively to the academic and wider life of the school.

Assessment and Awards

Applications are assessed confidentially and sensitively, taking into account:

  • Household income and assets
  • Outgoings and financial commitments
  • Any changes in circumstances

The school uses an independent financial assessment service as part of this process. All information provided is treated in the strictest confidence.

Expectations

Families in receipt of a bursary are expected to support their child’s full engagement with school life and to uphold the values and standards of Kew Green Preparatory School. Awards are reviewed annually and may be adjusted if circumstances change.

How to Apply

Families wishing to apply for a bursary should:

  1. Register and apply for a place at Kew Green Preparatory School
  2. Request and then complete a confidential bursary application form (this will be sent to parents once the formal registration form has been received)
  3. Submit the required supporting documentation by the stated deadline

Our Admissions Team is happy to guide families through each stage of the process and answer questions in confidence.
