Whether it is through role play in English, hot seating in history, debating in PSHEE, or performing on stage, drama helps children to develop self-confidence, creativity, communication, collaboration, and empathy.
Every class puts on a class assembly each year, to which parents and other visitors are warmly invited. Our main school productions are the Reception Nativity, Year 2 Nativity and the Year 4 and Year 6 productions. Our most recent Year 6 production was a captivating performance of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ adapted by our Head of English, Kate Bennett and Amy Kinross with musical pieces written by our Head of Music, Emily King intermixed with modern pop songs from the likes of Taylor Swift. Previous performances have included several bespoke productions written especially for the children at Kew Green, as well as Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, Oliver, and My Fair Lady.
A variety of workshops are on offer throughout the year, including during our Theme Weeks and Book Weeks, where children can develop their dramatic skills.
Extra-curricular drama is also on offer in the form of LAMDA lessons, which take place during the school day, and after-school drama clubs.
