At Kew Green Prep, we are proud to offer something genuinely unique among local prep schools: a flourishing partnership with our sister senior school, Kew House, located just a short walk across the bridge, opening up a world of opportunity for our pupils.
This gives our children easy access to outstanding facilities, specialist teaching spaces, and inspiring role models that extend and enrich their learning beyond what a standalone prep school can offer. Over the past term, this partnership has developed in exciting ways across the curriculum, and we plan to do more over the years to come. Here is a sample of the projects we have established this academic year:
Sport: A Professional Pathway Begins Early
Our collaboration with Kew House has allowed us to widen our sporting horizons significantly. This includes the growing use of Ealing Trailfinders, where we have already begun with tournaments and fixtures. Over time, we plan for our Games sessions to move there – giving pupils regular access to a professional sporting environment that builds confidence, ambition, and a love of physical activity.
Art & Design Technology: Real Workshops, Real Tools
For many children, the chance to work in a senior school–level workshop is transformative. Our Year 5 pupils have recently visited Kew House weekly to kick off their DT project on designing and making clocks. Working in fully equipped design studios, with specialist tools and machinery, helped to bring their ideas to life in ways that simply would not be possible in a primary-only setting. This is just the beginning of a much deeper cross-school collaboration in creative and technical design.
Languages & Food Technology: A Taste of What’s Ahead
Starting from the spring term, our pupils will experience immersive language and food-tech workshops hosted at Kew House. Whether cooking dishes connected to a country they’re studying or engaging in conversational tasks supported by senior school staff, these sessions will offer a rich cultural and linguistic experience. It’s hands-on, memorable learning, and it puts our pupils ahead as they move into the next stage of their education.
Drama & Dance: Performing on a Bigger Stage
Our partnership opens the door to the Kew House theatre, where pupils can take part in enrichment trips to spark their imagination and inspire confidence on stage. Year 6 will be performing there in the spring term. We have also launched a dance club at Pier House dance studio, supported by Kew House’s drama and dance team. These spaces give budding performers a chance to stretch their talents in professional, creative environments.
Science: Experiments That Ignite Curiosity
Kew House’s dedicated science laboratories will become a stimulating extension of our own curriculum. Pupils will undertake practical experiments that require specialist equipment, precision, and a genuine sense of scientific discovery. These experiences foster curiosity, scientific thinking, and a sense of belonging to a wider learning community.
Sixth Form Collaboration: Leaders, Mentors and Role Models
Our partnership extends all the way to the Sixth Form, whose students have begun supporting Kew Green with reading, fixtures, and enrichment activities. These positive role models help motivate our children and reinforce the values of community, kindness, and leadership that define the schools.
A Partnership That Sets Us Apart
This partnerships is one of the elements that sets Kew Green apart from other prep schools. What is important is that these opportunities are not one-off events – they are part of an ongoing, integrated relationship with a high-quality senior school right on our doorstep.
Being able to step across the bridge and instantly access theatres, design studios, science labs, professional-level sports facilities, and inspiring Sixth Form mentors is an extraordinary privilege. It greatly supports our mission to give Kew Green children an enriched, future-ready education. This is part of the Kew Green advantage – a prep school with the horizons of a senior school.
