Year 6 Head for the Alpes

18 March 2018

On Saturday, 10thMarch, Year 6 had to wake up at the unearthly hour of 3.30am! We had a long journey to Alpe d’Huez via Geneva but it was all worth it! Once we arrived, we collected our skis and had a good night’s sleep in preparation of our first skiing lessons on Sunday morning. We had 5 hours of lessons a day and explored all of the mountain in every kind of weather condition you could imagine! After the first morning, we knew we were all going to be ski champs! After each day’s lessons, we gathered back at the hotel and told anecdotes from the day and the teachers awarded tourists of the day. We also had an activity after dinner every evening such as games night, karaoke, movie night and a trip to a local creperie where everyone had to speak their best French!

At the end of the week, we had a presentation ceremony with our ski instructors when we were awarded our ski levels and badges, some of us even completed the Ecole du Ski Francais junior ski awards! Overall, this was the best trip that Year 6 have ever had, we all enjoyed it so much! Manon and Morgan, 6K
