The pastoral care and well-being of our pupils is paramount. By actively celebrating our pupils' personal achievements we extol a belief that personal growth and development deserves as much recognition as academic and sporting or musical achievements.
Merit Assemblies held each week award accolades including Sports Star, French Speaker, Musician of the Week and merit certificates to recognise those children who have excelled in effort, achievement, attitude and contribution. High expectations in behaviour, as in learning, generally combine to produce excellent results.
The behaviour we encourage and expect from our pupils at Kew Green is based on a whole-school ethos of respect and tolerance. All children subscribe to the Kew Green Charter, drawn up collaboratively between pupils and staff, which emphasises the importance of good manners and treating others with kindness, thus guaranteeing a calm and ordered environment necessary for successful learning.
